Lake Granbury

Lake Granbury, located in the heart of Granbury, is one of three North Texas lakes fed by the Brazos River. The lake offers numerous opportunities for watersports and other outdoor activities. And, with 8,310 acres of surface area and 103 miles of shoreline, by have plenty of space to enjoy your activities without feeling crowded.

Fishing

Lake Granbury is stocked with a number of species of fish, including striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, channel and flathead catfish, and crappie and sunfish.

Your best bet for striped bass is using live shad or downrigging with jigs and crankbaits.

For white bass, try jigs and spinners, especially in the spring.

Crankbaits and jigs are also great for largemouth bass. You can sometimes have luck around the lake's piers and boat docks.

You'll find catfish pretty much anywhere in the lake.

Crappie can usually be caught with live minnows and sunfish with worms. Both crappie and sunfish are prevalent around docks an piers, with sunfish being more prevalent throughout the lake.

Boating

Five public access areas, all run by Brazos River Authority, are located on Lake Granbury's shores.
Thorp Spring Park has a boat launching ramp, trailer parking, picnic area, restrooms, and plenty of parking. The park is free and open year round.

Hunter Park also has a boat launching ramp, trailer parking, picnic area, restrooms, and plenty of parking. The park also has a fishing pier and a courtesy dock. The park in free and open year round.

Rough Creek Park has a boat launching ramp, trailer parking, picnic area, restrooms, parking, and a fishing pier and courtesy dock. The park is free and open year round.

DeCordova Bend Park has a boat launching ramp, trailer parking, picnic area, restrooms, parking, and a fishing pier and courtesy dock. The park is free and open year round.

City Beach, near downtown Granbury, is owned and operated by the City of Granbury. Here, you'll find a boat launching ramp, paddle board rentals, a swimming area, restrooms, and a courtesy dock. It free and open all year.

Observation Point has picnic tables, parking, and a fantastic scenic overlook.

Lake Granbury Marina

Lake Granbury Marina, is a great place to start you Lake Granbury activities. They have a boat launch, on-the-water gas station, a convenience store, and an onsite restaurant. And, at Lake Granbury Marina, you can rent a variety of watersport toys, including paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes.

Lake Granbury Marina is the parent company for Stumpy's Lakeside Grill, Stumpy's Sweet Shack, and North Texas Kayak.

Stumpy's Lakeside Grill is a family friendly restaurant serving tacos, burgers and sandwiches, among other things. Stumpy's Sweet Shack is part of Stumpy's Lakeside Grill. Here, you can enjoy cupcakes, cookies, and other sweets.

At North Texas Kayak, you can view and purchase various Hobie Kayaks.
